Most HR managers and executives make the mistake of requesting background check reports at the last minute.
Verifying educational/employment backgrounds can be tricky and you should keep sufficient time in hand in order to get a quality report.
Universities are receiving increasing numbers of requests for educational record verification. However, most universities across the globe are understaffed and it takes a long time, especially for those in remote areas, to respond. In addition, records which are more than 10 years old are in paper form and it takes significant time and effort to search through them.
It is always advisable to place a request for a background check report 2-3 weeks in advance, preferably at the time of resume submission.
Rushing a background check will result in a report of poor quality.
